Question about whatsapp

I think the right question is "why use whatsapp when great alternatives like Signal exist?". It has all the functionality and none of the privacy concerns. I know some like Whatsapp UI a little more, but that is minor in my view. The only real reason is because everyone does. Same here, the only reason I still have Whatsapp is because some have not yet switched and I value those relationships more than privacy risk, which I have found other ways to manage.

Uninstalled Twitter and Facebook from my mobile devices. Trying to stop going to either. I would delete my Facebook account but it's now linked to my oculus and I'm not sure what the repercussions of that would be. And I'm an author who occasionally needs to use Facebook ads. Not a problem at the moment, but when I do a launch, I'll probably need to use that to gain some traction on sales. But gb whatsapp download and its experience is great!

Facebook messenger requires a Facebook account whereas with WhatsApp you can just insert your number to get started. The best part is WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption which makes it more private and safe. On the other hand, Facebook encrypts messages by default from the sender to its server
